Q:  Do you accept Medicaid?
A:   No, at this time Heather Ridge does not accept Medicaid.

Q: 
Do I have to bring my own furniture? 
A:  No, Heather Ridge will be more than happy to provide you furniture and linens. There are no additional costs for this service.

Q:  Do you accept pets? 
A:  Yes, we accept pets that are under 25 pounds. The resident must be able to provide all care for the animal and there is a $300 non refundable pet fee as well as an additional $35 a month fee.

Q: 
What are your visiting hours? 
A:  We have no set visiting hours. This is your loved ones home and you are welcome to visit at any time of the day or the night. If you are in the area and wish to stop in a dinner time, please do so, we have a plate ready for you.

Q:  Are there any hidden costs? 
A:  No there are no hidden costs. Heather Ridge has an all inclusive rate. You will be told the total monthly cost at the time of admission. Please remember, there may be additional fees for transportation if your loved one requires a staff member to stay with them during an appointment or if it is outside of our driving radius.

Q: 
How many people live in each home? 
A:  There can be up to 16 residents in each home. However, most of the time there are no more than 12 to 14.

Q:  Do men and women both live in the same house? 
A:  Yes, men and women both reside in the same unit and sometimes even in the same suite.

Q: 
Is Heather Ridge affiliated with any church? 
A:  No, while we do have a part time Pastor on staff; we are not directly affiliated with any one church.

Q: 
Is there a facility Doctor or can we keep our own? 
A:  Heather Ride does not work with certain Doctor. We expect that residents will be keeping their own Doctors.  If the resident is new to the area, we will be more than happy to assist in finding a Doctor.

Q: 
What happens if Mom gets worse? 
A:  Heather Ridge has 3 levels of care. When a resident becomes in need of more care, we work with the family in moving that person to the next level of care. Should the need arise we will even work with the family on getting their loved one set up with a hospice program so that the resident is able to remain here at Heather Ridge for their final days.

Q:  How do we get Mom here? 
A:  There is no hard and fast rule. Usually the family, the Doctor and the resident have all be working together. We work with each family individually to make sure that the transition goes as smoothly as possible.
